Q (Jade Tao): Master, many people visit the Wudang Mountains and speak of a special "energy field." How would you explain this energy to our friends in the West who cannot visit in person?
Master Xuan Tong: "(Smiles) Actually, 'Qi' (energy) is not something mysterious. Think about the difference between walking into a crowded subway station versus stepping into a deep, uninhabited forest. That feeling—that shift—is the energy field. The Wudang Mountains are not just a geological formation; they are a vast container. The stones, the trees, the flowing water—they have existed here for millions of years in a state of 'Stillness.' Modern people, however, are constantly in 'Motion,' and their spirits are often chaotic. When you wear a piece of jade from here, you are essentially carrying a small fragment of Wudang's 'Stillness' with you. The mountain does not speak, yet it calms the spirit. The energy we speak of is simply using the silence of nature to neutralize the noise of your city."
